Welcome to my essential oils blog. My interest in natural healing and alternative health goes back
more than 20 years when I was searching for a natural remedy for diarrhea, of all things. I had my own daycare and had suffered a 6 week bout of diarrhea contracted from the babies I took care of. Now, I love those babies, but 6 weeks is too long!
That's when I started reading about ginger. Ginger can help with car sickness, upset stomachs and diarrhea. I bought a ginger root at the store, made some strong ginger tea and drank it all day long. In a day or so, no more diarrhea!
I was hooked on the idea of natural remedies. Ever since then, whenever anyone in my family has a need for a remedy, I research what is available naturally. We've cured allergies, colds, sore throats, sleeplessness, dry skin, you name it - I found a natural remedy for it. Now, I am 60 and I take no medications and I'm healthy and allergy free. In fact, I only VERY rarely ever even catch a cold, let alone anything more serious. I attribute my healthy aging, in part, from avoiding prescription and over the counter drugs for the past 20 years.
Medications, whether prescribed by a doctor or purchased over the counter, throw the body out of whack, many times causing more problems than they solve. They only treat the symptom and not the root cause of an illness or disease. Natural treatments work with your body and do no harm (always make sure and research for any possible side effects).
So, 20 years of researching, writing and blogging about natural health and alternative remedies led me to my latest venture with essential oils. I've used essential oils for a few years for sleeplessness, for my dogs as a doggie calm and other uses so when I was introduced to doTerra essential oils, I was so impressed with the quality and the many products they offer, that I began using their oils. Now that I've seen what they can do for health and wellness, I decided to become a representative for them as well.
My essential oils blog will hopefully provide readers with information they need to make good choices about alternative health treatments. While I would always suggest that you check with your doctor before deciding treatments and that you do your own research on individual oils or blends, I believe that many people can be helped with the information I offer here.
My other passion in life is animal rescue and I volunteer my time with our local city shelter, trying to reunite lost dogs with their owners. Because of my love for dogs and cats, I donate 10% of my earnings from doTerra to our local city shelter group to get more dogs and cats adopted, rescued and fostered.
If you have any questions about essential oils or about doTerra in particular, please don't hesitate to let me know.
